PBL

Callum, Xing and I are in the group ‘Pizza Hut’. The topic we have chosen for our project is litter. This is a very big issue all around the world. We have noticed that in our parks around Hornby there is a lot of litter, even in places with bins just a meter away. The world is being polluted because of the amount of rubbish just lying around or getting blown into the oceans. We've done some research on several sites listed below. We have found out things such as:

  • 33% of litter is cigarettes.
  • The US spends 11.5 billion dollars each year on litter clean up.
  • It's causing pollution.
  • It is harming wildlife and sea life.
  • It doesn't do any good for our environment.
Litter is a huge problem and we may not be able to help much but we would like to try to in the area we live in. We are thinking of going to a few parks in the Hornby area to go pick up rubbish we find on the ground. We would also like to put up some posters around our school to tell students not to think twice before putting their rubbish anywhere but the trash. We hope to provide awareness to people about what can happen when they drop even one piece of rubbish. We know we can't erase the problem but hopefully, we can make even a small difference in our neighbourhood.

Action plan #1 Putting posters on doors and walls 21,11,17

Paper Sissors and Tape enabled us to do this
we didnt have anything other than potentally not finding this to disable us to do it
we did this well

Action Plan #2

on the 28th of november, we went to kyle and Denton park to pick up rubbish, we noticed that we picked up quite a bit of rubbish two bags in fact.

what enabled us to do this was permission and the equipment and luckily we had no disablers

Reflection: Our topic for PBL it was all about litter. We had 2 action plans, make posters and put them up  and go around the school, kyle park and denton park to pick up rubbish . We did the posters to create awareness to put rubbish in the bins. Everything went to plan as accorded, but we didn't have much as a big impact on the community as we thought. Things that enabled us were that access to materials like printer and tape to help us post the posters up and gloves and rubbish bags to help us pick up the rubbish. We hope we made some impact on the community even if its just one person putting their rubbish in the bins. I feel like we didn't spend our time properly and thats why we could have done better for next time.

persuasive essay

Why are Samsung and apple such a big debate on which is the better phone statistics don’t lie right? Samsung is better than apple and here is why, Samsung has better performance,  better-facing camera, and a headphone jack

The new Samsung phones smash apple with their performance
results from “http://crambler.com/10-reasons-android-phone-better-than-iphone/”  we see some examples of this ... the ram: for the iPhone x is 3gb while the Samsung s8+ has 4gb, another example is the weight the iPhone x weighs 6.14 oz (174g) but again the Samsung s8+ beats it with 6.10 oz (173g), even though it is not the biggest change it's still a difference and lastly the screen resolution:  iPhone x 2436 x 1125 and the Samsung s8+ 2960 x 1440 you can see Samsung “one-ups’ them everytime we see that Samsung has the best smartphones available and is superior performance wise

Samsung also has a better front-facing camera.
even though iPhones are well known for there great cameras Samsung still bets it as shown in these statistics from “http://crambler.com/10-reasons-android-phone-better-than-iphone/” the iPhone x  has a 7-megapixel camera as the Samsung s8+: has 8 megapixels this means you’ll be able to take better quality selfies to share with all of your friends and family
The Headphone jack Is a very popular feature among phones , It allows people to listen to music with ear/headphones and even get a aux cord to listen through speakers although the new iPhones don't seem to have one
From the iPhone 7 to current iPhones there isn't a headphone jack anymore, instead they have Airpods which are easily lost but you can spend a fortune on buying a adapter for it but you cant listen to music while charging.
But samsung does have one for all of their phones, will apple be able to bring it back? Time will tell

This is why Samsung is better than apple, Samsung has the best performance,  The best facing camera, and most importantly a headphone jack!

Drugs should be allowed in sports, why might you ask? Well because it can make the sport more entertaining to watch and it can also lower the stress that the players deal with before and after playing.

Although I do agree that it shouldn't be allowed in highly competitive events such as the Olympics as it makes it unfair for everyone else for fun events it should, in my opinion, be allowed.

Creative Writing #1 Risk Or Challenge

Image result for soccer

I was standing there. on the field in the scorching humid heat waiting for my team, legs shaking and mouth trembling “I have never done this before” “what if i do not do this right” I kept thinking to myself, like it was a real challenge. as I was searching I kept asking different teams “are you them” all of them said no until I finally found them,  they were energetic running around tackling each other and hyped up for the game to happen. I didn’t talk much because when I did I stuttered and mumbled so I thought it would be best to not talk unless I had to, I started off getting them to do drills, the kids dashed off zig zagging around the cones like it was nothing, but best of all they were using teamwork. passing to one another up the field and shooting goals. they were incredible.

It was time, the game was about to start. all the players were called onto the field the two captains did paper scissors rock to see who starts,we were off to a good start my team won, I blow the whistle and its kick off. in a matter of minutes the first goal is given but it seems like the good luck has worn off, the other team was the one who scored and they went nuts about it. my team got more into the competitive side and got serious, in the first half the score was 0-1, but the kids were determined to win, the last half went quickly but luckily the team was able to bring it back to 1-1, it was the last minute and of course my team had the ball, one passed to another and he passed to one more person, the ball was in line with the goal and he kicked it, the whole field went silent it was like no one was there, it went in and it was all over, the clutch of a lifetime,

everyone went in line and shook each others hands saying good game, then after went into a huddled and did cheers, it was a good game.

Examples:

In Macbeth by William Shakespeare, dialogue was used to show the state of  Macbeth’s mind.

For instance, the line “Is this a dagger I see before me?” demonstrates Macbeth questioning  his reality.
This technique reveals Macbeth’s character  by showing the audience that he has started to hallucinate and that his mind is playing tricks on him, or, alternatively, that the witches are having more influence on him than he realises.
Shakespeare did this to show the consequences of Macbeth’s guilty actions. As the play progresses, Macbeth’s mind becauses more troubled and Shakespeare uses Macbeth’s  dialogue, actions, and the conversations of other to reflect this.
This dialogue  can be juxtaposed with the feast when he has a visitation of Banquo’s ghost and says “Then comes my fit again: I had else been perfect”. This highlights, to some degree, the fact that Macbeth is conscious of his hallucinations. However, a characteristic of insanity is the insane person not knowing that are in fact insane and by the end of the play, Macbeth no longer knows what is real and what is imagined around him. This highlights the fact that guilt through murder and ‘unfettered’ ambition can affect the state of people's’ minds.

SEXXXY 1
The first instance is what we see right at the start of the novel, we see darry being a big brother and rescuing him
We see this when pony gets jumped by some socs, Darry comes over to help but afterwards we see darry saying to ponyboy “you don't use your head” and getting aggressive with pony
This makes the audience feel like pony and darry do not get along too well and that there is some hostility coming from them
The purpose for this is because their father and mother both died in a car accident so as a big brother he had to step up and become more of a father figure
This can be compared to the power of one and how gill peet would stick up for p.k to the prison guards and how the prison guards would react back
SEXXXY 2
In the outsiders by s.e hinton we see ponyboy and darry always angry at each other
For instance when pony came home from sleeping at the lot at 2 am darry flipped out at ponyboy saying “another hour and i would have sent the cops after you” and even hit ponyboy, this caused him to run away.
This makes us understand that darry was really worried for ponyboy, but ponyboy does not realise this but instead thinks darry hates him
The author did this to show that the relationship wasn't good
And to later on build it up
This is similar to johnny and his parents, johnny also feels his parents hate him and think they don't care about him
SEXXXY 3
Another stage of the relationship is at the hospital when pony and darry see each other after pony ran away
We see that darry is glad to see pony again and darry apologizes for that night he ran away and pony aswell states he missed him
This shows development in the relationship between them two and that they have gotten closer from pony’s near death experience
This was done to show development and strength in the family
This reminds me of the power of one when p.k meet gill peet their bond wasn’t very strong but over time it did
SEXXXY 4
The final instance is the rumble and how darry protected pony and trusted him
For example when pony got pushed to the ground and a soc came to beat him up darry came and smashed him over
This makes the audience think that darry always was trying to protect him and how he will keep trying, ponyboy at this stage has also realised this and is grateful
The purpose of this was to show that just because a family member is mad at you does not mean they hate you
This aspect can be compared to soda and darry’s relationship and how they get along really well even though they are also brothers in fact Soda is one of the only people that can talk to darry in a certain way and calm him down
